O que significa i-Size e em que difere das cadeiras antigas?

i-Size é o nome corrente da norma europeia R129, que classifica as cadeiras auto sobretudo pela altura da criança (em centímetros), em vez do peso, como acontecia na norma anterior. As cadeiras i-Size reforçam a proteção lateral e o transporte contra a marcha durante mais tempo. Todos os modelos desta coleção cumprem esta homologação.

Como escolho a cadeira i-Size certa para a idade do meu filho?

A escolha faz-se sobretudo pela altura e pelo peso da criança, dentro do intervalo homologado de cada cadeira. Nesta coleção há modelos para recém-nascido, como a Cybex Cloud G e a Maxi-Cosi Pebble, e cadeiras evolutivas que acompanham o crescimento, como a Cybex Sirona G e a Britax Römer Swivel-Grow. As cadeiras i-Size precisam de base ISOFIX?

Muitas cadeiras i-Size instalam-se sobre uma base ISOFIX, que fica fixa ao automóvel e torna a colocação mais rápida e segura. Até que idade a criança deve viajar contra a marcha?

A norma i-Size exige o transporte contra a marcha, no mínimo, até aos 15 meses, mas recomenda-se manter esta posição o máximo de tempo possível, pois é mais segura para a cabeça e o pescoço da criança. Modelos giratórios, como a Cybex Sirona G, facilitam colocar e retirar o bebé mantendo esta orientação.

Como sei se a cadeira é compatível com o meu carro?

As cadeiras i-Size são compatíveis com os automóveis que dispõem de fixações ISOFIX e constam como i-Size ready no manual do veículo. Ainda assim, alguns modelos têm listas de compatibilidade próprias, sobretudo os que usam perna de apoio. Posso usar a cadeira i-Size no carrinho de passeio?
