Why you should buy the Britax Romer Dualfix 5Z Car Seat

360° Rotation

Once installed on the Vario 5Z Isofix Base (sold separately), the Dualfix 5Z i-Size rotates 360° to travel rear-facing from 61 cm up to 105 cm (recommended) or, if desired, it can be rotated forward-facing from 76 cm and 15 months of age. We recommend using the Dualfix 5Z rear-facing for the entire use of the car seat, as this orientation best protects the cervical vertebrae and head in the event of a frontal collision, the most common type of accident on the roads. In addition, the Dualfix 5Z rotates 90° to both sides to place and adjust the harness to the child from the open car door and can rotate in any recline position.

Maximum comfort for the child
It reclines in six positions both rear-facing and forward-facing. The anti-rebound bar can be adjusted by 8° to better adapt to the car seat and offer up to 10% more legroom.

Greater side protection
The soft, padded side wings act as a protective shield that helps absorb the force of a side impact, thereby reducing the risk of injury to the child.

The SICT inside side impact absorption system is integrated into the seat's structure and is always ready to act in case of a collision, without the need for adjustment. The V-shaped headrest was developed to control head movement in case of a side collision, in addition to providing comfort. It can be easily adjusted with just one hand, simultaneously with the five-point harness, to adapt to the child's growth.

5-point harness with neoprene pads
The child is secured with the five-point harness both rear-facing and forward-facing, which, in the event of a collision, distributes the impact force among the five attachment points: two on the shoulders, two on the hips, and one on the central buckle located between the legs.

The soft chest pads, made of high-quality neoprene, reduce the child's forward movement in case of impact and provide more comfort for the five-point harness, which is easily adjusted with just one hand, simultaneously with the headrest.

Secure installation
The Dualfix 5Z's Vario 5Z Isofix Base is installed with ISOFIX and a support leg. Compatible with any vehicle seat. Base sold separately here.

Isofix with Pivot Link
The ISOFIX connectors feature the Pivot Link system, patented by Britax Römer, which initially directs the impact force downwards, pushing the car seat against the vehicle seat and absorbing energy, then continuing forward more smoothly. This reduces the risk of head and neck injuries.

The height-adjustable support leg prevents the car seat from rotating in the event of an impact.

Modular base system
The Vario 5Z Isofix Base is compatible with Baby-Safe PRO, Baby-Safe 3 i-Size, Baby-Safe Core, and Dualfix 5z.

Removable textile

Do these car seats meet the R129 (i-Size) standard?

Yes. The seats in this collection, from brands such as Cybex, Maxi-Cosi, Britax Römer, Joie and BeSafe, are approved to the European R129 regulation, also known as i-Size. This regulation classifies car seats mainly by the child's height and strengthens safety requirements, particularly protection against side impacts.

Up to what height or age are these car seats suitable?

As the collection's name suggests, these seats are designed for children up to around 105 cm, which corresponds roughly to the first years of life, depending on each child's growth. The exact height and weight limit is shown in each model's product sheet, and this should always be followed.

Should I keep my child rear-facing, and until when?

Rear-facing travel is the safest option in the early years, as it protects the head and neck better in the event of an impact. The i-Size regulation requires rear-facing travel until at least 15 months, but it's recommended to keep it for as long as possible. Rotating models make it easier to put the child in and change position.

Are these seats fitted with ISOFIX or with the seat belt?

Most of these seats install with the Isofix system, often with a load leg, which makes fitting simpler and reduces the risk of installation errors. Some models also allow belt installation. Always check the product page and your car's manual to confirm compatibility.
