A selection designed for the first months, from 0 to 6 months. Find the essentials for your baby's first days, from trusted brands.

What items are essential in the first 6 months?

This collection brings together the most useful items for the first few months of life: carrycots, co-sleeping cribs, baby baths, newborn inserts and sleeping bags suited to this age. These items prioritise your baby's comfort, hygiene and safe sleep. The recommended age is always shown on each product's sheet.

What is a co-sleeping cot such as the SnüzPod?

A co-sleeping cot, such as the SnüzPod 5, sits next to the parents' bed and, in many models, lets you open the side to bring the baby closer, making breastfeeding and night-time monitoring easier. The baby sleeps in their own space, which is recommended for the first few months. Always follow the manufacturer's assembly and safety instructions.

How do I choose the right sleeping bag TOG for this age?

The TOG value indicates the bag's level of thermal insulation: lower values (for example 0.5) are for warmer environments and higher values (1.0 or more) for cooler rooms. This collection includes 0-6 month sleeping bags in various TOGs. It's recommended to match the choice to the room temperature and dress the baby accordingly.

What is the newborn insert for?

An insert, such as the Cybex Newborn Nest, adapts the space in the car seat or pushchair to the newborn's size, giving more support to the head and body in the early months. It should only be used within the age and weight limits stated by the manufacturer, and removed as the child grows.

What precautions should I take with a newborn's bath?

It's recommended to prepare the bath with water at around 37°C, always checking the temperature before putting your baby in, and never leaving your child alone in the bath, even for a moment. The baby baths in this collection, such as the Chicco Soft Bubble, are designed to support and comfort your baby during bath time.

What's the difference between a carrycot and a cot at this stage?

The carrycot is portable and, in many cases, fits onto the pushchair chassis, making it practical for outings and for your baby to sleep lying flat. The co-sleeping crib is designed for the bedroom, next to the parents' bed. Many families combine both solutions; each product page shows the recommended use and limits.
