In other words, as an ultra-compact stroller, it excels, and then adds "all-in-one" features, making it the ideal stroller choice (from birth up to 4 years old) for those with a more urban lifestyle. Despite being ultra-compact, it has the longest seat in its segment (designed for Dutch babies). https://bonabebe.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/joolz-aer2-fechar.mp4 XS strollers are widely used for holidays and during the summer, so having a good canopy is extremely important to protect the baby from UV rays. The Joolz Aer 2 stroller has an XL canopy, ventilated, and with UFP50+. Joolz Aer2 ultra-compact stroller XL canopy Regarding summer, the ultra-compact Joolz Aer+ stroller comes with a friendly brake and release suitable for open footwear. Joolz Aer+ XS stroller review: summer-friendly brake and release Regarding the seat of the ultra-compact Joolz Aer+ stroller, in addition to reclining completely (which is great for our babies' naps), the seat remains a Joolz seat: ergonomic. Ergonomics is a specific feature of Joolz; Joolz has always designed stroller seats to ensure a correct posture for the baby when strolling (most strollers have a straight seat, and babies tend to slouch to one side). Ergonomics of the Joolz Aer+ ultra-compact stroller seat Additionally, the Joolz Aer+ is the ultra-compact stroller with the largest seat on the market. The backrest alone measures 54cm! If we incorporate the footrest, the seat measures a total of 114cm. This means you are guaranteed to have a stroller that will last until your baby is 4 years old. The backrest height of the Joolz Aer+ is 54cm, making it the largest seat among ultra-compact strollers The founder of the Joolz company decided to create strollers because he observed a lack of functionality in the strollers sold in the Netherlands. Thus, one of the features that a Joolz stroller necessarily incorporates is the ability to steer it without tripping over the stroller (no matter how long our legs are). With the Joolz Aer+ ultra-compact stroller, we can take giant strides without tripping over the stroller As I mentioned earlier, the Joolz Aer+ ultra-compact stroller is an all-in-one city stroller, which means we can start using this stroller from birth. The compatible carrycot is the Joolz Aer+ carrycot (other Joolz brand carrycots will not be compatible). XL canopy with UV protection for the Joolz Aer+ carrycot In this carrycot, we find everything we desire in a carrycot: a 3D mesh mattress (to ensure safe sleep and air circulation), an XL canopy with sun protection and ventilation. Mesh mattress of the Joolz Aer+ carrycot Of all the compact strollers in this top list, this is the only one that folds with the carrycot (sold separately), a super important feature for keeping the stroller in the ultra-compact segment. Joolz Aer+ ultra-compact stroller: folds with carrycot It is also compatible with infant car seats (Group 0+ car seats) from the leading European car safety brands for babies: BeSafe, Maxi-Cosi, Britax Roemer, and Cybex. Please note that for car seat use, you need to purchase Joolz Aer+ car seat adapters. Joolz Aer+ ultra-compact stroller with Besafe infant car seat I remind you that to attach the infant car seat (or baby car seat), you need to purchase the car seat adapters (sold separately). Joolz Aer+ adapters for infant car seat / baby car seat The icing on the cake is that this stroller has a 10-year transferable warranty (provided you register on the Joolz website), which demonstrates the brand's confidence in its products and the greater environmental awareness that the Dutch company Joolz is bringing to the market. Oh, and not least important, the fabrics are made from recycled bottles. Joolz Aer+ ultra-compact stroller includes travel bag The Joolz Aer+ is the second version of the Joolz Aer stroller, and the main improvements are: Wheels with a new design Basket with greater capacity Improvements to the seat and harness Compatible with the LED light accessory Larger canopy Greater seat recline (now lies completely flat) Joolz Aer+ ultra-compact stroller lies completely flat Folds and unfolds with the Joolz Aer+ Armrest (sold separately)   New Joolz Aer armrest sold separately I should also add that you can choose 3 different colors for the armrest to create the desired combination for your Joolz Aer+ stroller. One of Bugaboo's premium features, which makes it envied by the competition, is the quality they put not only into the stroller's chassis structure but especially into the quality of the wheels they've managed to integrate into their strollers. Bugaboo Butterfly stroller wheels The Bugaboo Butterfly ultra-compact stroller is par excellence a second stroller for airplane travel or city living. This is because this stroller will not be compatible with a bassinet or reducer nest. In other words, for a newborn, it would have to be used with an infant car seat/baby car seat or infant car seat (which I do not recommend). Bugaboo Butterfly car seat adapters But, if you want to use this stroller with your infant car seat/baby car seat or infant car seat, the good news is that you just need to purchase the Bugaboo Butterfly car seat adapters, and they will be compatible with the following brands: Avionaut, Besafe, Britax-roemer, Cybex, Joie, Maxi-Cosi, Nuna Infant car seats compatible with the Bugaboo Butterfly The Bugaboo Butterfly stroller includes: XL and extendable sun canopy, rain cover, footrest, removable lining. However, the armrest is sold separately for €49.95 Accessories included with the Bugaboo Butterfly: Additional lining, rain cover, footrest Ultra-compact stroller review Bugaboo Butterfly airplane cabin stroller review Uppababy Minu 2 American ultra-compact stroller (video review) Video Review: Uppababy Minu 2 Ultra-Compact Stroller Table Pros Cons  ✅ Rubber Wheels ❌Volume 34*55*43 cm ✅Material Quality ❌Non-reversible seat ✅One-hand fold ❌Weight 7.2kg ✅One-hand unfold ❌Travel bag not included ✅ XL canopy with peekaboos ✅Compatible with infant car seats from various brands (by purchasing Uppababy Minu 2 adapters for other brands) ✅ Brake and Release ✅Footrest included ✅Rain cover included ✅Armrest included Review of Minu 2 XS stroller The American brand Uppababy has wonderful strollers, with incredible quality. They go straight to number 4 in the top 10 best ultra-compact strollers because the Minu2 is amazing and because finally the after-sales service is now available in Portugal. Color options for the Minu2 Uppababy ultra-compact stroller During the unboxing of the Minu 2 stroller, I was very surprised by how well organized and structured the instruction manual was; I think it reveals the special care the brand has for parents. Comfort detail of the Minu2 stroller's handle Despite being an ultra-compact, the Minu 2 stroller has somewhat large closed dimensions for cabin size: W41*H55c*D34. However, it will certainly fit in any car model. One of the things I loved most about the Uppababy Minu2 was its rubber wheels. Unfortunately, most brands use plastic wheels on strollers, which makes them quite fragile and uncomfortable for babies. By using rubber wheels, Uppababy shows attention to details that usually escape parents, and to babies' comfort. Rubber wheels of the Uppababy Minu 2 stroller will provide more comfort for the baby The Minu2 is compatible with the Uppababy bassinet, meaning that instead of a micro bassinet, babies using a Minu2 will get a spacious and comfortable bassinet. Uppababy Bassinet: spacious and comfortable Furthermore, by using adapters for other car seats, it is compatible with infant car seat brands (baby car seats) such as BeSafe, Maxi-Cosi, Britax-roemer, and Cybex. Minu2 Uppababy adapters for car seats from other brands Although the Minu 2 stroller is an all-in-one, meaning it can be a travel system used from birth, I know that this type of stroller is more commonly used in the summer. And, it's wonderful to see that the stroller has a brake and release designed with open footwear in mind, which is usually worn during warmer weather. Summer-friendly brake and release and accessible shopping basket Another detail that gives the Minu2 extra comfort is the almost millimeter-precise recline adjustments, so we don't have to settle for a position that's too upright or too reclined. Press the adjustment buttons to get the perfect recline position for the baby to rest With a 47 cm backrest, the Minu 2 has an 81 cm seat (including footrest), and as such, it ends up having a normal seat length for the segment. I should add that it is approved up to 22kg, and of all the ultra-compact strollers I've used, I confess that this was the easiest to maneuver with weight. The Uppababy Minu 2 stroller folds and unfolds easily with one hand, making it suitable for when you are out alone with your baby. Although it is a bit heavier for its segment (weighing 7.2kg instead of 6kg), it compensates with the quality of materials it delivers. It's the only one. ✅Reclines 145º Review of the Babyzen Yoyo2 ultra-compact stroller In third place is the Babyzen Yoyo2 stroller, which now belongs to the Stokke group. This was the stroller that revolutionized the market and created the XS segment. It was the first ultra-compact stroller capable of being a travel system (accommodating an infant car seat and a bassinet) and with the size and weight to travel in an airplane cabin. In my opinion, it was the first baby stroller designed for urban life. The proof that Babyzen understood a market need is that sales of this type of stroller exploded, and Babyzen is still a market leader in many countries. Babyzen Yoyo2 super compact baby stroller: perfect for airplane cabin I still love this stroller, especially its weight, folded dimensions, material quality, and color variety. I find the ease with which we can change the color of the Babyzen Yoyo2 stroller to be super intelligent. For €60, we can change the canopy and seat color and have a stroller with a new fabric and look. To fold the Babyzen Yoyo2 ultra-compact baby stroller, you need to use both hands simultaneously Now, I find the seat size too small, and a 2-year-old baby can easily outgrow the ultra-compact Babyzen Yoyo2 baby stroller. I also don't find it practical to fold. Folding is done in 3 steps, and you have to use both hands to close it (there are much simpler solutions on the market now). Babyzen Yoyo2 Bassinet: folds with the stroller One of the features that are practically unique to the ultra-compact Babyzen Yoyo2 stroller is the possibility of choosing a hard bassinet or a newborn pack (a piece that acts as a bassinet but folds with the stroller). I particularly like the second option because it allows you to maintain the mobility of an ultra-compact baby stroller and respect the need for an ultra-compact stroller that takes up little space. Safety strap for Babyzen Yoyo2 to prevent it from rolling away The Babyzen Yoyo2 is compatible with most infant car seats (baby carriers) – such as Maxi-Cosi, Besafe, Britax-Römer, and Cybex – available on the market (provided they have a compatible attachment with Maxi-Cosi style adapters sold separately). Although it's not their main focus, I think they did a great job creating this stroller, and I believe this ultra-compact baby stroller offers excellent value for money. It's true that it's not the most compact or the lightest, this is not the option for those looking for an airplane cabin stroller, nor is it the solution for those who plan to constantly use public transport alone with the baby. However, it is the ultra-compact baby stroller that has the best value for money. Moreover, throughout the year, it is possible to find campaigns on Ergobaby Metro+ accessories. Ergobaby Metro+ ultra-compact baby stroller fully reclines and has a large (not XL) canopy The seat of the Ergobaby Metro+ stroller is a good size and will comfortably accommodate a baby up to 3 years old or 22kg, it fully reclines and is ideal for long naps, and we can purchase a newborn kit, which is sold separately. Additionally, for those who want to attach an infant car seat to this ultra-compact baby stroller, simply purchase the adapters sold separately (it will be compatible with infant car seats from BeSafe, Maxi-Cosi, Britax-Römer, and Cybex brands). Rubber wheels of the Ergobaby Metro+ ultra-compact baby stroller The main strength of this stroller is the quality of its construction and the materials used. The rubber wheels, combined with excellent suspension, provide comfort for both the baby and the person pushing it. As Ergobaby places great importance on ergonomics, this is the only ultra-compact baby stroller that offers the possibility of adjusting the handle height. Only ultra-compact baby stroller with adjustable handle height Although it falls short in some details: the brake is not designed for open-toe shoes, the canopy is large but not XL, and the volume is not compatible with an airplane cabin; the Ergobaby Metro+ is definitely a stroller to buy. Rating of the Ergobaby Metro+ ultra-compact stroller Rating of the Ergobaby Metro+ ultra-compact stroller Easywalker Jackey ultra-compact baby stroller (video review) You can watch my video review here: Ultra-compact baby stroller table Pros Cons  ✅Fully reclines (with millimeter adjustments) ❌Volume 64*45*34 cm (does not work in cabin) ✅XL canopy ❌Non-reversible seat ✅Footrest included ❌Weight 7.5 kg ✅Front bar included ❌Brake and release not open-shoe friendly ✅ Solid and sturdy construction ❌No possibility of bassinet or newborn pack (not suitable for travel system) ✅Compatible with infant car seats from various brands (by purchasing Easywalker Jackey adapters) ❌Plastic wheels ✅ Rain cover included ✅Opens and closes with one hand Review of the Easywalker Jackey ultra-compact baby stroller €349.99 The Easywalker Jackey ultra-compact baby stroller can be used from birth by attaching the adapters for the Easywalker Jackey car seat. In my opinion, this baby stroller should only be used from 6 months onwards. In other words, the Jackey is more for use as a second stroller rather than an all-in-one (travel system). And here it performs very well as long as there is no need to put it in an airplane cabin. The Easywalker Jackey fully reclines and has millimeter adjustments for inclination and an XL canopy (which is ideal for a stroller used mostly during summer holidays). Ultra-compact baby stroller fully reclines and has an XL canopy The Easywalker Jackey has details designed for summer holiday comfort: the way it folds, its folded dimensions, the wide seat with canopy ventilation and side covers to protect from heat and sun. Ventilated canopy with protection to ensure air circulation and shade We can also easily take this stroller for some grocery shopping or to carry a lot of storage because it has an accessible and large basket. Accessible and large basket of the Easywalker Jackey stroller In conclusion: The Easywalker Jackey from Easywalker is a good option as a second stroller for vacations (as long as they don't involve airplane travel). See all Easywalker products here. Review of the Easywalker Jackey ultra-compact stroller Review of the Easywalker Jackey ultra-compact stroller EmmalJunga Kite 250 ultra-compact stroller €499 (video review) Ultra-compact stroller table Advantages Disadvantages  ✅Giant rubber wheels, ideal for beach and mountain ❌Volume 64*45*34 cm (does not work as cabin luggage) ✅Giant seat ❌Non-reversible seat ✅Good construction ❌Weight 8.3kg ✅XL hood ❌Brake and release not foot-friendly for open shoes ✅ Solid and resistant construction ❌No possibility of carrycot or bassinet (not suitable for a travel system) ✅Compatible with infant car seats from various brands (by purchasing Emmaljunga Kite 250 adapters) ❌No possibility of footrest and bumper bar ✅Large and accessible basket ❌Rain cover not included Review of the EmmalJunga Kite 250 ultra-compact stroller It is true that the Emmaljunga Kite 250 is an ultra-compact stroller within Emmaljunga's range of baby strollers. Compared to other ultra-compact strollers, it is a bit large. However, it has a place in this top 10 because it offers something that no other stroller does: wheels capable of tackling all types of terrain and the only wheels designed for walking on the beach. All-terrain wheels of the EmmalJunga Kite stroller In other words, for those who want a comfortable, compact second stroller that can be used on the beach and is suitable for mountain walks, the Emmaljunga Kite 250 is the ideal stroller. It is not the ideal choice for a more urban life, but it is the ideal choice for a more outdoor life. The Kite 250 ultra-compact stroller has a very long and padded seat The Emmaljunga ultra-compact stroller can be used for the longest time, as it has the longest seat within its segment (57cm backrest). This advantage comes with a price in weight, making it the heaviest stroller in this top with 8.3 kg. To recline the Emmaljunga Kite 250 we need to use a zipper on the inside Despite having premium finishes on the handles and fabric quality, the Kite has a glaring flaw in its recline mechanism (it uses a zipper that will pass close to the baby's hair) and the brake is not designed for open-toed footwear. Review of the Emmaljunga Kite 250 ultra-compact stroller Review of the Emmaljunga Kite 250 ultra-compact stroller Maxi-Cosi Jaya ultra-compact stroller €299.99 (review) Maxi Cosi Jaya ultra-compact stroller table Advantages Disadvantages  ✅Easy to open and close (1 hand) ❌Volume 71.5*45*38.5 cm (does not work as cabin luggage) ✅Armrest included ❌Non-reversible seat ✅Leg rest included ❌Weight 7.350 kg ✅Large hood ❌Super small seat ✅ Good construction ❌No possibility of carrycot or bassinet (not suitable for a travel system) ✅Compatible with infant car seats from various brands (by purchasing Maxi-Cosi Jaya adapters) ❌No possibility of footrest and bumper bar ✅Rain cover included Review of the Maxi-Cosi Jaya ultra-compact stroller The Maxi-Cosi Jaya ultra-compact stroller cannot be used as a travel system but can be used with an infant car seat as long as the Jaya adapters are purchased separately. Of Maxi-Cosi's ultra-compact strollers, I consider the Jaya to have the best construction and quality. The Jaya ultra-compact stroller has good construction Although it is not cabin-sized, it is very easy to open and close and is lightweight. If it weren't for the extremely small seat (the smallest in this top 10), the Maxi-Cosi Jaya would be a good choice for a second stroller. The Maxi-Cosi Jaya stroller has a fairly small seat Review of the Maxi-Cosi Jaya ultra-compact stroller Review of the Maxi-Cosi Jaya ultra-compact stroller Recaro baby Lexa Elite ultra-compact stroller €359.99 (video review) You can watch my video review here: Ultra-compact stroller table Advantages Disadvantages  ✅Possibility of being a travel system ❌Volume 35**57*46cm (does not work as cabin luggage) ✅Armrest included ❌Weight: 8kg ✅Leg rest included ❌Two-handed opening and closing ✅Large hood ❌Plastic wheels ✅ Reversible seat (can use bassinet) ❌Weak suspension/construction ✅Rain cover included ❌Compatible only with Recaro baby Avan ❌No bag for storing the stroller Review of the Recaro baby Lexa Elite ultra-compact stroller In my opinion, the Recaro baby Lexa Elite ultra-compact stroller fits better in the S segment than in the XS segment, which is why it is at the bottom of this table. What I like about this stroller is the fact that it has a reversible seat, the seat can be height-adjustable and grow up to 51 cm in backrest height, and the fact that it is compatible with a reducer bassinet or soft carrycot. Since the seat turns towards us, we can ensure that the baby will not be riding in an infant car seat but rather in a more suitable and ergonomic seat. Compact Recaro baby Lexa Elite stroller with reducer bassinet I remind you that, to use it with an infant car seat, it must be from Recaro and you need to purchase the adapters for infant car seat/car seat. The major disadvantages of this stroller are that it tries to do everything; for an ultra-compact stroller, it's too large (it won't fit in an airplane cabin) and heavy (+2kg than the average ultra-compact). For a travel system, its construction is a bit weak. However, if the terrain is stable or usage is sporadic, I think it's a stroller to consider, as it has a super interesting entry price point.   Review of the Recaro Lexa Elite ultra-compact stroller Review of the Recaro Lexa Elite ultra-compact stroller   Chicco Goody ultra-compact stroller €269.99 (video review) You can watch my video review here: Ultra-compact stroller table Advantages Disadvantages  ✅Easy to open and close (1 hand) ❌Volume 30*75*45 cm (does not work as cabin luggage) ✅Armrest included ❌Non-reversible seat ✅Leg rest included ❌Weight 7.5kg ✅Large hood ❌Super small seat ✅ Good construction (good suspension) ❌No possibility of bassinet or carrycot (not suitable for a travel system) ✅Rain cover included ❌Only compatible with Chicco car seat ❌No storage bag for the stroller Review of the Chicco Goody Plus ultra-compact stroller The brand Chicco is a leading brand in Portugal and its ultra-compact stroller is the Goody Plus, which ranks 9th in the top 10 best ultra-compact strollers. Chicco Goody Plus XS stroller with faux leather finishes The Chicco Goody Plus ultra-compact baby stroller has faux leather finishes on the handle and armrest, which makes the stroller more comfortable to push and hold. However, I think it was a bad choice to put this finish on the headrest because it will cause more perspiration (since these strollers are mostly used in summer). This detail does not invalidate the purchase of the stroller. To make it more suitable for summer, simply purchase a mesh cover from Voksi or Aeromoov. Faux leather headrest is less ideal for summer use The backrest size of the seat is within the average for ultra-compact baby strollers, however, within this top 10, it is a small seat. As the footrest is already included, we have a seat with a total length of 85 cm and a width of 35 cm. The wheels are quite small, with a diameter of 13 cm (among the smallest in this segment). Backrest height is within the segment average but below average in this top 10 As it is not possible to attach a carrycot or bassinet, this ultra-compact baby stroller is more for use as a second stroller rather than as a travel system or all-in-one. The Chicco Goody Plus stroller is more suitable for use on vacation and from 6 months onwards. I would add that the stroller reclines perfectly and is great for summer naps, and I REALLY LIKE the handle they placed to adjust the stroller's recline: it is very simple and practical. The Goody Plus XS baby stroller has a medium canopy Despite the wheels being smaller than average, the Goody Plus ultra-compact baby stroller has generous suspension that will help provide a smoother ride. Good suspension of the Chicco Goody Plus baby stroller For me, the strong point of this ultra-compact baby stroller is how it folds: with just one hand, and then it folds itself. So, to summarize, the Chicco Goody Plus ultra-compact XS stroller offers good value for money, with good construction and almost all accessories included. It is suitable for holidays and from 6 months of age, and is capable of providing good naps. It is more suitable for people with short legs, as the handle does not allow for a longer stride (there is a tendency to trip over the stroller). There is no room for a large stride with the Chicco Goody Plus ultra-compact baby stroller Evaluation of the Chicco Goody Plus ultra-compact stroller Evaluation of the Chicco Goody Plus ultra-compact stroller Joie Tourist ultra-compact baby stroller €249.95 (video review) You can watch my video review here: Table for the Joie Tourist ultra-compact baby stroller Advantages Disadvantages ✅Possibility of being a travel system ❌Volume 28*67*44 cm (does not fit in cabin) ✅Armrest included ❌Non-reversible seat ✅Leg rest included ❌Opens and closes with two hands ✅Large canopy ❌Plastic wheels ✅ Reasonable construction (depends on usage) ❌Weak suspension ✅Rain cover included ❌Only compatible with Joie car seat ✅Weight 6.4kg ❌No storage bag for the stroller Review of the Joie Tourist ultra-compact baby stroller With the Joie Tourist ultra-compact baby stroller, we return to the all-in-one or travel system option, as the Joie Tourist stroller is compatible with the Joie Ramble carrycot and the Joie Snug infant car seat. However, I should warn that if this stroller is to be used as a travel system, it should be for occasional use and not for heavy, daily use due to the quality of the materials. Full recline of the Joie Tourist ultra-compact baby stroller is great for summer naps This stroller, when folded, is suitable for any car, and it's also easy to carry on public transport, however, it's not small enough to be carried in an airplane cabin. Joie Tourist ultra-compact baby stroller is too big to be carried in an airplane cabin With so many wonderful details, such as the fabric and the dimensions (the seat size is above average for this top 10), I confess I was very disappointed with the suspension of this XS baby stroller. Perhaps in other countries, suspension doesn't make such a big difference, but in our country, with Portuguese cobblestones, good suspension will make all the difference. Ultra-compact strollers or XS baby strollers are a segment of baby strollers that were invented/created by the Babyzen brand with its YOYO model. Babyzen started by creating the YOYO stroller as a second stroller and as a truly lightweight and compact option. YOYO 2 Stroller 15 years ago, compact or second-stage strollers were called umbrella strollers, and Maclaren Baby was the market leader. Maclaren Stroller 2000s   Stroller 80s The Babyzen YOYO revolutionized the ultra-compact stroller segment, not so much because of its weight (at the time, many Maclaren strollers were even lighter), but because of the space and volume it occupied when folded, being even able to be carried as airplane cabin luggage. It didn't take 3 years for the BabyZen YOYO to become a sales success and quickly transform into a trio or the concept of an all-in-one ultra-compact stroller. YOYO+ all-in-one Stroller The success of these types of strollers is due to the new lifestyle of parents, who are increasingly urban and have greater mobility. To have a city life, it is important to have a lightweight stroller that folds and unfolds easily, can be transported on various types of transport, can be carried up the stairs of a building without an elevator, or can be stored in a smaller apartment. Ergobaby Metro + Stroller on public transport These types of strollers are characterized by being lightweight (under 8kg), compact (for airplane cabin or to fit in any car model), and easy to fold (although many fail in this characteristic).Joolz Aer+ Stroller in an airplane cabin Although many brands already design this type of stroller as all-in-one (trio), most still treat them as umbrella strollers or second strollers, that is, a stroller to be bought for summer holidays. I sincerely believe that in the future, the stroller market will be dominated by XS (ultra-compact strollers).   Why or for whom ultra-compact strollers are suitable Ultra-compact strollers are suitable for those who lead a more urban life, for whom mobility is important, and for those who have small apartments. They are also an interesting choice for those who want to have a more conscious footprint, since, after buying this stroller, there's no need to buy a second one. This will be the smallest stroller you'll ever own.   Evaluation criteria for the top 10 best ultra-compact strollers To build this top 10 best ultra-compact strollers, I used 25 criteria, which are reflected in the table at the beginning of the article. Then, each stroller has a summarized table of strengths and weaknesses and an evaluation graph based on 5 considered points. The most important criteria for inclusion in this table were measurements and weight. In other words, I wanted to ensure that the options I presented were true ultra-compact stroller options. Scale used to weigh ultra-compact strollers When the construction of this type of stroller is weaker, it is very important to check if the brands have after-sales service in Portugal. Unfortunately, many do not. Brands that do gained extra points: Joolz, Uppababy, Chicco, Maxi-Cosi. Ultra-compact strollers tend to provide a more uncomfortable ride for the baby, so I paid special attention to the wheel material, wheel size, and suspension. Since they are used more than other strollers, I also considered the build quality and the parts where repairs are most likely to occur. As this type of stroller is often used as a second stroller and for holidays, the seat size, canopy size, seat recline, and material breathability are especially important.

It folds and unfolds with one hand, weighs only 6.5 kg, and is cabin-size. Despite being compact, it functions as a trio and is ideal from birth up to 4 years. It is also the model with the longest seat in its segment, designed for taller babies. https://bonabebe.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/joolz-aer2-fechar.mp4 XS strollers are widely used during holidays and summer, so having a good canopy is crucial to protect the baby from UV rays. Joolz Aer2 Brake Next, the seat stands out, continuing to use recyclable fabrics, but with a more ergonomic design. The seat has increased depth in the hip area to ensure correct posture for the baby and prevent slipping. It is designed to accommodate a newborn reducer, facilitating adaptation from the first days. These dimensions allow the stroller to accompany the child's growth up to approximately 4 years of age, ensuring long-term durability and comfort. Dimensions of the Joolz Aer2 stroller seat The front bar of the Joolz Aer 2 has been redesigned and is higher for greater comfort for tall people. Furthermore, it offers more legroom, preventing kicks while pushing. Joolz Aer 2 stroller – The front bar is higher for greater comfort Another highlight is the new front bar attachment system, which allows for assembly and disassembly by pressing a single button on one side. Joolz Aer 2 stroller – Front bar allows assembly and disassembly with one hand On the other hand, the carrycot of the Joolz Aer 2 offers a comfortable and secure space for the baby, measuring 78 cm in length by 29.5 cm in width. Finally, parents can easily remove and reattach the carrycot, and the stroller folds compactly with the carrycot attached, standing upright for easy storage. Joolz Aer 2 stroller – The stroller folds with the carrycot, standing upright for better storage If the Joolz Aer 2 is out of budget, the Joolz Aer+ is a great alternative — and this summer it has discounts up to 25%. It remains a high-quality, lightweight, and easy-to-use ultra-compact stroller. Compared to the Aer 2, it lacks the included footrest, the more ergonomic seat, and a slightly smaller basket. Still, the Aer+ remains an excellent choice for holidays. The Joolz Aer+ is also a great alternative The Joolz Aer2 earns the top spot for its unbeatable combination of lightness, practicality, and durability. It was designed to make parents' lives easier: it folds and unfolds with one hand, is ultra-compact, and has a larger-than-average seat and carrycot. With an ergonomic design and a 10-year warranty, it's a safe investment — perfect for accompanying not just the first child, but also the second and even the third. https://bonabebe.pt/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/joolz.mp4 Bugaboo Butterfly Ultra-Compact Stroller (video review) Video review ⬇️ Table of the Bugaboo Butterfly ultra-compact stroller Pros Cons ✅ Volume 23*43*53 cm (According to IATA standards for cabin luggage) ❌Armrest included ✅Material quality ❌Non-reversible seat ✅One-hand fold ❌Weight 7.2kg ✅One-hand unfold ❌Travel bag not included ✅ XL canopy with peekaboos ✅Compatible with car seats from various brands (by purchasing Bugaboo Butterfly adapters) ✅ Rubber wheels ✅Footrest included ✅Rain cover included ✅Removable seat cover for machine washing Bugaboo Butterfly Stroller Review The Dutch brand Bugaboo is one of the oldest in the market and is known for its excellently functional and high-quality strollers designed for parents' daily lives. One of Bugaboo's premium features, which makes it envied by competitors, is the quality they put not only into the chassis structure but especially into the quality of the wheels they've managed to integrate into their strollers. Wheels of the Bugaboo Butterfly stroller For transport, you can use the handle or, alternatively, the footrest as a handle. However, as the handle is quite short, taller people may feel some discomfort when carrying it on their shoulder. Bugaboo Butterfly stroller – Has a small carry handle The Bugaboo Butterfly is, par excellence, a second stroller ideal for plane travel or city life and is one of my favorites. However, it is not compatible with a carrycot or a newborn nest reducer, which limits its use from birth. In other words, it could only be used with a car seat or infant carrier — which is not recommended for long periods. Bugaboo Butterfly Adapters The Bugaboo Butterfly stroller box includes: an XL extendable sun canopy, a rain cover, a leg rest, and a removable seat liner. However, the bumper bar is sold separately for €49.95. Accessories included with the Bugaboo Butterfly: Additional liner, rain cover, footrest The Butterfly is IATA approved, meaning it meets the allowed dimensions for cabin baggage: 53 cm high, 43 cm wide, and 23 cm deep. In terms of weight, it totals 7.2 kg—slightly above other ultra-compact strollers, which range between 5 and 7 kg. However, this extra weight translates into a more robust, stable, and durable structure. Bugaboo Butterfly stroller - meets cabin baggage dimensions The Bugaboo Butterfly is ideal for summer: it has a brake designed for open footwear, good suspension, an XL sun canopy with sun protection, and it opens and closes with one hand. It only doesn't take 1st place because it's not as versatile as the Joolz Aer 2. The Aer 2 can transform into a complete travel system with a carrycot or infant car seat, ideal for a second child. The Butterfly is a dedicated second stroller—but, in that role, it's one of the best available. The Bugaboo Butterfly has a summer-friendly brake and release mechanism https://bonabebe.pt/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/bugaboo2.mp4 Stokke YOYO 3 Ultra Compact Stroller (video review) Video review ⬇️ Stokke YOYO 3 Ultra Compact Baby Stroller Table Advantages ✅ Disadvantages ❌ ✅ Extremely compact and lightweight, ideal for travel and transport ❌ Shorter seat, suitable for children up to about 2 years old ✅ Improved XL canopy with rear ventilation for greater thermal comfort ❌ Folding requires two hands, less intuitive on holiday ✅ Extendable seat (47 cm to 53 cm), adapting to baby's growth ❌ Footrest sold separately, increasing total cost ✅ Easy-to-adjust seat recline ❌ Does not recline fully flat ✅ Excellent handling in urban areas and on uneven surfaces ❌ Shopping basket capacity smaller than other models Stokke YOYO 3 Stroller Review The Stokke YOYO 3 is, of all the models analyzed, the most compact and lightest. It's easy to transport, takes up little space, and adapts well to urban environments or travel with limited trunk space. Stokke YOYO 3 is a super compact and lightweight stroller However, it doesn't take first place because despite its lightness and compact size, the opening and closing system isn't as intuitive as other models. While it may be possible to open it with just one hand, it requires some force. To close it, two hands are definitely needed. In a holiday context, where practicality is essential, this detail can make a difference. https://bonabebe.pt/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/yoyo2.mp4 The Stokke YOYO 3 comes with several improvements over the previous version, making it even more functional for families looking for an ultra-compact stroller, especially during the summer months. One of the major new features is the new XL canopy, now with wider sun coverage and a ventilation zone at the back, which allows for better air circulation and greater comfort for the baby on warmer days. The YOYO 3 canopy is larger than the previous version There have also been important updates to the seat. The backrest is now 47 cm high, and can be extended to 53 cm, representing a significant improvement in comfort and ergonomics as the baby grows. The seat width is 28 cm, which keeps the stroller light and compact, although it is more suitable for babies and children up to about 2 years old. The YOYO 3 backrest is 47 cm high Finally, regarding recline, the YOYO 3 backrest is easy to adjust and allows for various intermediate positions. However, it does not offer a fully flat recline, which may be a limitation for those who want a stroller that allows for prolonged naps in a completely flat position. The Stokke YOYO 3 stroller does not recline fully Where the YOYO 3 falls short compared to the Joolz Aer 2 and the Bugaboo Butterfly is in the seat size. While the first two have spacious seats, designed to accommodate children up to 3 or 4 years old, the YOYO 3 has a significantly shorter seat. Therefore, it will be more suitable for children up to 2 years old, being less versatile in the long term. YOYO 3 has a smaller seat than the Joolz Aer 2 and Bugaboo Butterfly UPPAbaby Minu V2 Ultra Compact Stroller (video review) Video review ⬇️ UPPAbaby Minu V2 Ultra Compact Baby Stroller Table Advantages Disadvantages ✅ Rubber wheels ❌ Volume 34*55*43 cm ✅ Material quality ❌ Non-reversible seat ✅ One-hand fold ❌ Weight 7.2kg ✅ One-hand open ❌ Travel bag not included ✅ XL canopy with peekaboo window ✅ Compatible with infant car seats from various brands (by purchasing Uppababy Minu 2 adapters for other brands) ✅ Brake and release ✅ Footrest included ✅ Rain cover included ✅ Bumper bar included UPPAbaby Minu V2 Stroller Review The American brand UPPAbaby stands out for the exceptional quality of its strollers and takes 4th place in the ranking of the best ultra-compact strollers for summer with the Minu V2 model. This stroller is lightweight, practical, and surprisingly robust. Furthermore, the great news is that the brand's after-sales service is now available in Portugal, making this an even safer option for families. Color options for the Minu2 Uppababy ultra-compact baby stroller Although it is an ultra-compact stroller, the closed Uppababy Minu V2 has slightly larger dimensions for cabin luggage (L41 × H55 × W34). Still, it easily fits into any car model, making it practical for car travel. Uppababy Minu2, folded stroller dimensions One of the major highlights is the rubber wheels—a rare detail in this segment. While many brands use plastic wheels, Uppababy invests in more resistant and comfortable materials, showing attention to details that make a difference in parents' daily lives and the baby's well-being. UPPAbaby Minu V2 has rubber wheels The Minu V2 is compatible with the Uppababy carrycot, which is a great advantage over other compact models. Instead of a micro carrycot, babies can enjoy a more spacious and comfortable carrycot, ideal for the first few months of life. Uppababy baby stroller carrycot: spacious and comfortable Additionally, by using adapters for other car seats, it is compatible with infant car seat brands such as BeSafe, Maxi-Cosi, Britax-Römer, and Cybex. Uppababy Minu2 adapters for other infant car seats Although the Minu V2 is an all-in-one stroller, meaning a travel system that can be used from birth, it's true that this type of stroller is more popular during the summer. Furthermore, it's excellent to note that the stroller has a brake and release specifically designed for those wearing open footwear in the warmer season, ensuring safety and comfort. Summer-friendly brake and release with accessible shopping basket Another detail that gives the Minu V2 extra comfort is its almost millimeter-precise recline adjustments. This means you don't have to settle for a position that's too upright or too reclined, offering more possibilities for your baby's comfort at any time. Optimal recline on the Minu V2 With a 47 cm high backrest, the Minu V2 has an overall length of 81 cm, including the footmuff, giving it a standard dimension within its segment. Furthermore, it is approved for up to 22 kg, and among all the ultra-compact strollers I've tried, I must admit it was the easiest to maneuver even with weight. UPPAbaby Minu V2 seat with 47 cm The Uppababy Minu 2 stroller folds and unfolds easily with one hand, making it suitable for when we're out with our baby alone. Although it's a bit bulky for its segment (weighing 7.2kg instead of 6kg), it makes up for it in the quality of materials it delivers. Ultra-compact baby stroller Minu 2 with integrated carry strap The Uppababy Minu 2 ranks fourth among the best ultra-compact strollers for summer, mainly due to two key limitations: its shorter seat and heavier weight compared to its predecessors, such as the Joolz Aer 2, Bugaboo Butterfly, and Stokke YOYO 3. The Uppababy Minu 2 seat is shorter For these reasons, the Uppababy Minu 2 secures a solid place in the top 5. Although not the most compact or the lightest, it is a very interesting option for those looking for a robust, functional stroller ready to accompany the baby's growth, with multiple configuration possibilities. It can be used with a bassinet, with a car seat (infant car seat), or as a main stroller from birth, making it a versatile solution for families looking for a more complete model from the start. Uppababy Minu 2 stroller Inglesina Quid 3 Ultra-Compact Stroller (video review) Video review ⬇️ Table of the Inglesina Quid 3 ultra-compact baby stroller ✅ Advantages ❌ Disadvantages ✅ Ultra-compact and very light (6.4 kg) ❌ Larger folded dimensions than some competitors ✅ Easy folding ❌ Does not include bassinet (sold separately) ✅ Elegant and modern design ❌ Backrest reclines up to 170°, but not fully flat ✅ XL canopy with UPF 50+ protection and 3D ventilation window ❌ Storage basket with limited capacity (up to 5 kg) ✅ Front wheels with suspension, good impact absorption ❌ May not be ideal for very uneven terrain ✅ Approved for use in airplane cabin ✅ Comfortable and reclinable seat Inglesina Quid 3 Stroller Review What's included with the stroller: the seat, the extendable canopy, the armrest, and the adjustable footrest. Regarding the armrest, it is positioned slightly further forward than the natural area where the baby would rest their arms. Although it's not exactly at arm level, it doesn't pose a significant problem in using the stroller. Inglesina Quid 3 Stroller – Armrest is positioned lower Among the accessories for the ultra-compact stroller sold separately, highlights include the rain cover (€46), the transport bag for easy storage, and the summer liner, with breathable and comfortable fabric, available for around €39. You can also purchase the Baby Snug, although I only recommend it for babies who already sit facing forward, not for newborns. Inglesina Quid 3 Stroller – Summer liner accessory to buy separately An interesting detail — and often overlooked by other brands — is the anti-slip and more durable fabric in the area where the baby rests their feet. This choice increases the stroller's durability. Anti-slip fabric in the foot area on the Inglesina Quid 3 stroller Inglesina designed the Quid 3 to be lightweight and compact, making it perfect for parents looking for practicality in everyday life and when traveling. With a lightweight of 6.78 kg, it is easy to transport and maneuver, even in busy urban environments. This Quid 3 stroller is suitable for babies up to 22kg. The Inglesina Quid 3 stroller weighs 6.78kg With a padded seat and soft fabric, the Quid 3 offers ergonomic comfort, an adjustable footrest, and high-quality finishes for all stages. The Inglesina Quid 3 stroller has a soft fabric In terms of parent comfort, it has a very comfortable ergonomic handle, making it easy to steer even on long walks. In addition, it is also a comfortable stroller for tall people. Inglesina Quid 3 Stroller – Comfortable handle with breathable zones The harness is super easy to adjust and fits practically into the different holes, adapting to the baby's growth. However, one point that Inglesina could improve is the shoulder height adjustment, which in the Quid 3 is still done manually between two available positions. Inglesina Quid 3 Stroller – Shoulder height has two available positions An interesting detail is the Inglesina Quid 3 brake, designed to be easily operated even with open-toed shoes, great for summer. The Inglesina Quid 3 stroller has an accessible brake for open-toed shoes Inglesina designed the Quid 3 to make parents' lives easier. It can even be folded with one hand, standing on its own after being folded. The Inglesina Quid 3 stroller stands upright by itself after being folded It also has an additional breathable zone at the back of the canopy, which is especially useful on hot days. In a summer context, this extra ventilation allows for better air circulation, helping to keep the baby cooler and more comfortable in the Inglesina Quid 3. The Inglesina Quid 3 stroller has an additional breathable zone The Inglesina Quid 3 ranks fifth in the top ultra-compact strollers for summer holidays, not due to lack of quality, but because it is slightly larger than the other options presented. However, despite its size, it remains extremely light and easy to maneuver, making it very practical for everyday use. https://bonabebe.pt/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/inglesina.mp4 What are ultra-compact baby strollers Ultra-compact baby strollers or XS baby strollers are a segment of baby strollers that were invented/created by the Babyzen brand with their YOYO model.
