The flow should match the baby's development: slower flows are suited to newborns, and the rate increases as the baby grows and feeds more vigorously. Teats usually show a number and a reference age. If the baby chokes or, on the contrary, struggles a lot, it may be time to adjust the flow.

The ranges differ in shape and flow behaviour. Natural teats have a wide shape that aims to mimic the breast; Classic+ follows a more traditional shape; and Natural Response only lets milk out when the baby actively sucks, helping to control the pace. Each range fits the corresponding bottles.

Teats are designed to fit bottles from the same range. To ensure a proper seal and avoid leaks, it's recommended to use the Natural Response teat with bottles from the Natural Response line. If in doubt about compatibility, check the product page or contact the Bonabebe team.

For hygiene and safety, it's recommended to inspect teats regularly and replace them as soon as they show signs of wear, cracks or changes in shape. As a general guide, many manufacturers suggest replacing them every few weeks. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.

Before first use, and during the first few months, it's recommended to sterilise the teats, as well as washing them after each use. You can do this by boiling or with a dedicated steriliser, following the manufacturer's instructions. Check that the material can withstand the sterilisation method you've chosen.

These numbers identify the flow and, indirectly, the stage of use: the higher the number, the faster the flow tends to be, for older babies. The age guide is shown on the packaging. It's recommended to choose the flow according to your baby's age and how they feed.
