What's the difference between Philips Avent's Natural Response and Anti-Colic bottles?

The Natural Response teat only releases milk when the baby actively sucks, mimicking the rhythm of breastfeeding, which helps make the transition between breast and bottle more natural. The Anti-Colic range focuses on its anti-colic system, with a valve that reduces air intake. Both are available in this collection; the choice depends on what you're looking for for your baby.

What is the AirFree technology found in some of these bottles?

The AirFree tube is designed to keep the teat full of milk and free of air during feeding, even with the baby in a more upright position. The aim is to reduce air intake and, with it, wind, reflux and colic. It's a useful detail, especially in the early months.

Should I change the teat as my baby grows?

Yes. The teats come in different flow rates, designed for each stage, and we recommend moving up to a faster flow as your baby develops, when needed. An unsuitable flow can cause choking or, conversely, tiredness while feeding. Each bottle's product page gives the flow and suggested age.

Are there glass bottles in this collection?

Yes, there's at least one 240 ml glass option in the Natural Response range. Glass withstands high temperatures, is easy to clean and doesn't retain odours or flavours. It should, however, be handled carefully due to the risk of breakage. Plastic models are lighter and more practical when out and about.

Are these bottles BPA-free?

Yes. The bottles in this collection are made without BPA, in line with European requirements for products that come into contact with baby food. Even so, we recommend replacing teats and bottles that show signs of wear. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for replacement.

How should I sterilise and store the bottles?

Before first use, the bottle and all its components should be sterilised, and cleaned after each use. You can use steam, cold-water or boiling sterilisers, following the manufacturer's instructions. It's recommended to regularly check the condition of the teats and replace them whenever necessary.
